And More of the Many Ways We Learn

As we enjoy our fall break, here's a look at more of the wide variety of ways the crew experiences learning.

Stewardship, through keeping the room (even the floor) tidy and organized:

Book selection skills -- and ENTHUSIASM for reading -- through  discussion with a children's librarian:

Interpersonal skills, including empathy for crew mates, through a discussion circle led by our social worker, ("the other") Mr. Bill:

Expert advice on written communication skills, through an impromptu discussion with Ms. Deborah, and through a weekly group led by a parent:

Gathering and manipulating data, through experiments such the measurement of average human reaction time (a hand-squeeze is sent sequentially around a circle):

Presentation skills and encouragement to try new and interesting pursuits, through students sharing at morning meeting:

Presentation skills and new approaches to problem-solving, through students explaining their solutions:

Presentation and leadership skills, through leading All-School Meeting, including sharing about books we're reading and concepts we're learning:

Perseverance, generosity, meeting physical challenges...and having fun, through our participation in Boot Camp:
